Finding your SMTP / IMAP details

Get the server settings needed to configure Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, or any standard email client.

What this means

What this means

Your CM Cloud email account uses standard IMAP and SMTP protocols. Once you generate connection credentials from the portal, you can configure any email client to send and receive mail.

Before you start

Before you start

Log in to your portal and navigate to the service that includes your email mailbox. Have a password manager or secure note ready — the generated password will not be shown again after you close the panel.

Step-by-step guidance

Step-by-step guidance

  1. Open your portal and go to Services.
  2. Select the service that includes your email mailbox.
  3. Click 'Get IMAP Password' — a new password is generated and shown immediately.
  4. Copy and save the password right away — it replaces any previous password and cannot be retrieved later.
  5. Configure your email client with: IMAP server mail.cmcloudhosting.com port 993 SSL/TLS, SMTP server mail.cmcloudhosting.com port 587 STARTTLS, username your full email address, password the one generated above.

What CM Cloud support will review

What CM Cloud support will review

Support can help if the IMAP password button fails, if your mailbox does not appear in the portal, or if you need to confirm that your email service is active.

What is not automated yet

What is not automated yet

Clicking 'Get IMAP Password' generates a fresh credential but does not send it by email, change your webmail login, or affect other mailboxes on your account.

Safety note

Safety note

Each time you generate a new password the previous one stops working immediately. Update every email client and device that uses it.
