What this covers
Shared hosting is for a normal website: a business site, a landing page, a portfolio. You get a DirectAdmin control panel, a database, free SSL and daily off-site backups. Your account is isolated from every other customer's. You do not get SSH — if you need that, you want a VPS.
Before you start
Have your domain (or decide on one), your content, and your logo. If you are moving an existing site, keep the old host running until the new one is live.
How to do it
- Pick a plan by how big the site is. Starter suits a brochure site; Business and Pro allow more simultaneous visitors and more memory for heavier plugins.
- Pay, and the account is created automatically with a control panel login in your portal.
- Point your domain at us. If the domain is registered with us this is already done; if it is elsewhere, change its DNS.
- Upload your site through the file manager, or install WordPress from the panel in one click.
- Check the site over HTTPS once the certificate is issued — a few minutes after the domain resolves here.
